Google is shutting down Assistant Driving Mode
At the 2019 IO conference, Google Assistant announced the Driving Mode Dashboard. The service was officially launched in 2021 after testing the following year. However, Google is closing the service after a year. News Engadget.
According to 9to5Google, users can experience Android Auto-Lite while driving on smartphones through this service, which is basically an alternative to the Android Auto smartphone app. That app was also shut down by the search engine giant last year.
‘Assistant’ shows a home screen-style page in driving mode. Where Google Assistant, music player, volume control and buttons for calling or sending messages are displayed above. It can be launched or pinned to the home screen by simply saying 'Hey Google, launch driving mode'.
Many use the service from the Maps version. So 9to5Google said that the service was not popular and it was decided to stop it.
